Jewelry production in pictures
Your Corporate Social responsibility Partner
This month we have decided to show you a production process, as we think it is easier for someone to understand questions on working condition if he has a basic idea on the actual production steps and what the machines may looks like. Don't hesitate to tell us if you are interested in such information, and we could start a serie with other kind of goods.
As a first one we have selected some basic jewelry goods.

The first production step of jewelry is hot. It is molding the main pieces. we are far from fancy. On a CSR point of view, health of workers is espcially at stake as they are working with very hot parts.

The second step is brazing or smolding. Some parts are linked together to make the shape. Here again health of workers is at stake as once again, as the process require hot parts and generate fumes.

The third step is the polishing to make the metal smooth and shiny. Many metal dust are spreaded in the air, thus masks googles and other PPE are very important. good protection of the hands of the workers and of the hears are necessary too. Stone polishing is usually even worse with silicoses risks.

Then the process can differ quite a lot. Some are almost finished, some are paints, some required some plastic parts. In such case, the management of chemicals is very important. Good ventilation in the room is important too. otherwise the fumes may go in other workshops and intoxicate workers not protected.

Some hand made finishing of painting maybe needed as well as lacquer. Fumes are again the main threat to workers health. We take here the opportunity to remind some products we handle without care can become a threat to workers as they use them on a daily basis.

It is now the final assemblying, the final checking and packing, with many hand work to be done. As it is often a low qualification staff, we have to be especially carefull on contract, wages...
